  • 1 3.5 pound bone-in turkey breast
  • 1 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon onion powder
  • 1 teaspoon Cajun seasoning
  • ½ teaspoon salt
  • ¼ teaspoon black pepper
  • 1 large onion chopped
  • 1 cup frozen vegetable mix
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 cups chicken broth
  • 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons chopped fresh parsley plus more for garnish, if desired

Instructions

  • In a small bowl, combine garlic powder, onion powder, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over the turkey breast.
  • Place the seasoned turkey breast in a baking dish or Dutch oven.
  • In a separate bowl, whisk together the chicken broth, Worcestershire sauce, flour, and chopped parsley until well combined.
  • Add the chopped onion, sliced bell pepper, and minced garlic to the baking dish or Dutch oven, arranging them around the turkey breast.
  • Pour the chicken broth mixture over the turkey breast and vegetables.
  • Cover the dish with a lid or aluminum foil and bake in a preheated oven at 350°F (175°C) for 1 ½ hours.
  • Remove the lid or foil and continue baking for another 30 minutes, or until the turkey breast is tender, can be easily pierced with a fork, its internal temperature measures 165°F, and the sauce has thickened.
  • Garnish with additional chopped fresh parsley, if desired.
  • Serve the smothered turkey breast hot, with the sauce spooned over the top.
