Potato Chip Christmas Crack Recipe

Easy to make potato chip Christmas crack with salty chips, buttery caramel, chocolate drizzle, and sprinkles for a festive holiday treat.

Waffle chips drizzled with red, green, and white icing, and festive sprinkles—this twist on a Potato Chip Christmas Crack is served on a plate with milk nearby.

I've made plenty of chocolate Christmas crack over the years, usually with crackers as the base. But I'd never tried a version made with potato chips until a friend handed me a small gift bag last holiday season. One bite and I was hooked. The salty crunch under that caramel and chocolate was completely different from what I was used to, and I knew I had to figure out how to make it myself.

Turns out there's a reason she used ridged chips instead of the flat ones. When that hot caramel hits the base, flat chips just shatter, but the ridges create little pockets that hold everything together. I learned this the hard way on my first attempt when half my batch broke into tiny pieces.

The caramel temperature matters too because I've both burned chips and ended up with uneven coating before figuring out the sweet spot. A few tries later, I finally had something that tasted just as good as what my friend made, and the festive drizzle makes it look good enough for cookie trays or gift tins.

My kids love helping me break it into pieces once it's cooled, and honestly, it's hard to keep them (and me) from sneaking bites before we've even finished decorating it. This is the perfect Christmas treats especially for busy holiday weeks when you want something that looks in theme but doesn't need hours of work. It's sweet, salty, crunchy, and just the right amount of messy to eat. Make a double batch if you're planning to share, because it disappears fast.

Ingredients

Potato Chip Christmas Crack features potato chips, graham crumbs, butter, white chocolate, candy melts, sprinkles, and vanilla—all spread out on a white surface for a festive treat.

You'll be needing wavy potato chips here. Those ridges catch and hold the caramel way better than flat chips, and they're sturdy enough to stay intact once coated. Thin chips just snap too easily under the weight of everything.

Butter and brown sugar create the caramel layer. I use unsalted butter so I can control the saltiness since the chips are already salty. Brown sugar melts smoothly and gives you that deep caramel flavor with a softer set once it cools.

White almond bark melts evenly and sets quickly with no tempering needed. You can use white chocolate chips if that's what you have, but they might seize up unless you add a bit of oil, which can mess with how the topping hardens.

Red and green melting chocolates are mostly for that festive look, but they also set cleanly and keep their color bright. Regular chocolate with food coloring doesn't work as well here, so stick with melting chocolates for the best results.

Sprinkles need to go on while the chocolate is still tacky, or they won't stick. Wait too long and they'll just roll right off once everything hardens.

How to Make Potato Chip Christmas Crack?

Potato Chip Christmas Crack recipe: Potato chips covered in white chocolate with red and green sprinkles on a plate, festive for the holidays.

Potato chip Christmas crack is a sweet and salty holiday treat that comes together quickly with just a few steps. It’s great for cookie trays, gift tins, or setting out during parties when you want an easy recipe that doesn’t require a lot of prep.

Prep the Pan

Preheat your oven to 375°F. Line an 11x7 inch baking sheet with parchment paper, making sure it covers the bottom and sides. This keeps the caramel from sticking and makes cleanup easier.

Arrange the Chips

A baking tray lined with parchment paper, filled with wavy, ridged potato chips—perfect for trying a new potato chip recipe or adding a twist to your Christmas Crack treats.

Spread the potato chips out in an even layer on the prepared baking sheet. Try to cover the surface fully, overlapping slightly if needed so the caramel coats everything.

Make the Caramel

A saucepan with butter and brown sugar, next to ridged potato chips on a white surface—perfect for making a festive Christmas Crack recipe.
In a saucepan set over medium heat, add the butter and brown sugar. Stir as the butter melts and the sugar dissolves.
Wavy potato chips next to a pot of bubbling caramel sauce on a marble surface inspire the perfect Potato Chip Christmas Crack recipe.
Once the mixture comes to a boil, start timing and continue whisking constantly for exactly 3 minutes. This step is important for the caramel to set properly.

Add Vanilla and Bake

Remove the saucepan from the heat and stir in the vanilla. Carefully pour the mixture over the potato chips, using a spatula if needed to spread it out evenly. Place the pan in the oven and bake for 6 minutes.

Melt the Chocolate

A rectangular pan filled with white yogurt and a spoon resting inside on a marble surface, reminiscent of the layered look of Potato Chip Christmas Crack.

While the pan is baking, melt the white almond bark in a microwave safe bowl in 30 second increments, stirring between each round until smooth. Repeat the same process in separate bowls for the red and green melting chocolates.

Decorate the Crack

Wavy potato chips are topped with white, red, and green sauces on a rectangular baking sheet—a festive recipe perfect for your next holiday party.

Remove the baking sheet from the oven. Drizzle the melted white almond bark over the hot caramel layer, followed by the red and green chocolates. Use a knife or skewer to gently swirl the colors together for a marbled look.

Add Sprinkles and Cool

Wavy potato chips topped with red, green, and white swirled frosting and sprinkles create a festive Potato Chip Christmas Crack on a baking tray.

Immediately sprinkle the top with Christmas sprinkles while the chocolate is still soft so they stick. Set the pan aside and let everything cool completely at room temperature.

Break and Serve

Plate of potato chips drizzled with red, white, and green chocolate—like a festive Christmas Crack recipe—sits next to a glass of milk on a plaid cloth.

Once fully set, lift the parchment paper out of the pan and break the candy into pieces. Serve right away or transfer to a container for storage.

Storage

A plate of wavy potato chips drizzled in festive white, red, and green—like a Christmas Crack recipe—sits on a plaid cloth next to a glass of milk.

Once the candy has fully set, store it in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days. If your kitchen is warm, you can keep it in the fridge so the chocolate stays firm. Layer the pieces with parchment paper to keep them from sticking together.

Top Tips for Potato Chip Christmas Crack

Choose sturdy chips: Wavy or kettle chips hold their shape better under hot caramel than thin, flat chips.

Time the caramel carefully: Boil the butter and sugar for exactly 3 minutes. Shorter leaves it too soft, longer can make it hard or bitter.

Work quickly with the chocolate: Drizzle and swirl right away since the chocolate sets fast, and let everything cool completely before breaking into pieces.

Air Fryer Churro Donut Holes with Caramel Sauce (With Premade Biscuit Dough)

Air fryer churro donut holes rolled in cinnamon sugar and served with warm caramel sauce for a quick, cozy treat everyone will love.

Cinnamon sugar donut holes on a plate with a bowl of caramel dipping sauce.

Churros are one of my favorite snacks whenever we're out and there's a stall selling them, and my family absolutely loves when they come with different dips and sauces to try. I personally love that cinnamon-sugar coating and the crispy-yet-soft texture that makes churros feel like a treat every time.

When I started experimenting with air fryer donut holes, the different glazes and coatings reminded me of those fun churro sauces we'd get from street vendors, and I immediately knew exactly what was coming next. What I've learned from testing different dough types is that using a pre-made option actually works better for this application than churro dough from scratch.

Traditional churro dough is a choux pastry that requires precise technique and is designed specifically for deep frying. The denser, biscuit-style dough holds its structure better in the air fryer and creates that a nice contrast between crispy exterior and soft interior without needing the steam and high heat that choux requires.

The air fryer method is what makes this practical for home cooking. Traditional churros need oil heated to exactly 375°F and constant attention to prevent burning or undercooking. The air fryer's circulating heat creates consistent browning on all sides without any temperature monitoring or oil disposal, which means I can make these on a weeknight instead of saving them for special occasions.

My kids love dipping these in the warm caramel sauce, and honestly, I love how I can make them without heating up the whole kitchen or dealing with safety concerns. They come out golden brown and perfectly crispy on the outside while staying soft inside. These have become our go-to treat when we're craving churros but don't want to wait for a festival or fair to come around.

Ingredients

Ingredients for baking on a marble surface, including biscuits, butter, milk, sugar, vanilla, and cinnamon.

Refrigerated biscuit dough (the kind without flaky layers) makes these churro donut holes so easy because it saves so much time and bakes up with that dense texture that's perfect for bite-sized treats. Melted butter brushed on while they're warm helps the cinnamon-sugar mixture stick to every donut hole and gives you that signature churro coating with the perfect amount of sweetness.

For the caramel sauce, brown sugar creates that rich, molasses-like base that pairs well with the cinnamon flavor. Unsalted butter adds creamy richness, while heavy cream makes the sauce smooth and pourable.

See the recipe card for exact quantities.

How to Make Air Fryer Churro Donut Holes?

A pile of cinnamon sugar donut holes on a plate with a bowl of caramel sauce on the side.

These air fryer churro donut holes are perfectly crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. Paired with homemade brown sugar caramel sauce, they make the perfect dessert or snack that’s easy to make and incredibly delicious.

Prepare the Donut Holes

A white plate with several uncooked biscuit dough rounds on a marble surface.
A white plate with raw, round biscuit dough pieces and two dough balls on a marble surface.
A white plate with 20 small, round dough balls on a white marble surface.

Start by cutting each biscuit in half. Roll each piece into a small ball, making sure to keep them roughly uniform in size for even cooking. The dough will expand slightly during air frying, so leave a little space between each ball when placing them in the basket.

Preheat the Air Fryer and Cook the Donut Holes

Eight Churro Donut Holes rest on foil in an air fryer basket, with a bowl of breadcrumbs nearby—perfectly crisped and ready to dip in caramel sauce.
Nine churro donut holes baked in an air fryer basket on foil, with bowls of melted butter and cinnamon sugar nearby.

Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Lightly spray the air fryer basket with cooking oil to prevent the donut holes from sticking. Arrange the dough balls in a single layer, don't overcrowd to allow for even air circulation. Air fry for 6–8 minutes, shaking the basket halfway through the cooking time to achieve even browning. The donut holes should be golden brown and puffed up once they’re done.

Coat the Donut Holes in Cinnamon Sugar

A spoon dips a bread roll into melted butter, with more rolls on a white plate nearby—perfect for pairing with churro donut holes or drizzling caramel sauce for an extra touch of sweetness.
A dough ball for Air Fryer Churro Donut Holes being coated in cinnamon sugar in a white bowl with a spoon on a marble surface, perfect for dipping in caramel sauce.

While the donut holes are still warm, brush them with melted butter. This helps the cinnamon sugar adhere to them. In a separate bowl, mix together the cinnamon and sugar. Once the donut holes are buttered, roll them in the cinnamon-sugar mixture until they are completely coated. Make sure every bite has a sweet, spiced exterior.

Make the Brown Sugar Caramel Sauce

A saucepan with brown sugar and cream mixture on a marble countertop, ready to be mixed for rich caramel sauce—perfect for pairing with air fryer churro donut holes.
A saucepan with melted browned butter on a white marble surface, ready to make rich Caramel Sauce for dipping freshly baked Air Fryer Churro Donut Holes.

In a medium saucepan, combine the brown sugar, butter, and heavy cream. Place the pan over medium heat and stir constantly to melt the ingredients together. Bring the mixture to a gentle boil, continuing to stir as it simmers. Let the sauce boil for about 3-5 minutes, until it thickens slightly. Keep an eye on it to avoid burning.

Finish the Caramel Sauce

Hand dipping a churro donut hole into a bowl of caramel sauce, with more air fryer donut holes nearby.

Once the caramel has thickened, remove the pan from the heat. Stir in the vanilla extract and salt, mixing well to incorporate the flavors. Allow the sauce to cool for a few minutes. It will continue to thicken as it cools, so don't worry if it appears a little thin when first made.

Serve and Enjoy

A hand holds a cinnamon sugar Air Fryer Churro Donut Hole dipped in caramel sauce, with more donut holes on a tray.

To serve, you can either drizzle the warm caramel sauce directly over the churro donut holes or offer it as a dipping sauce on the side. The choice is yours!

Storage

Round churro donut holes on a plate with cinnamon sugar, served alongside a bowl of rich caramel sauce and a spoon for dipping.

Store any leftover churro donut holes in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days. If you need to keep them longer, refrigerate them for up to 4 days. To reheat, place them back in the air fryer for 2-3 minutes at 350°F (175°C) to restore their crispy texture.

For the caramel sauce, store any leftover in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week. Reheat gently on the stovetop or in the microwave, adding a splash of cream or milk if needed to restore the desired consistency.

Top Tips for Air Fryer Churro Donut Holes

Evenly sized dough balls: Make sure the biscuit dough pieces are roughly the same size when you roll them into balls. This will help them cook evenly in the air fryer.

Don’t overcrowd the air fryer basket: Place the donut holes in a single layer with a bit of space between each one. Overcrowding can prevent them from cooking evenly and getting crispy.

Customizing the caramel sauce: If you prefer a richer flavor, you can add a pinch of cinnamon or a splash of vanilla extract to the caramel sauce for an extra layer of warmth and depth.

Easy 5-ingredient Crockpot Chicken and Rice

Easy Crockpot chicken and rice has only 5 ingredients, made with tender boneless chicken thighs and savory seasoned rice. A simple, hands-off dinner that’s perfect for busy days.

A bowl of creamy chicken stew garnished with chopped herbs, with a spoon and a cloth napkin nearby.

As a mom of two chicken-loving kids, I'm always on the lookout for new chicken recipes, especially the easy ones. the type of recipes I can put together in only a few minutes before heading out the door or becoming too focused on photo editing. This crockpot chicken and rice has become one of those lifesaving recipes that my kids request constantly because it's exactly what they want and it's very easy to make.

I came across it while leafing through 1970s magazines in the thrift store for inspiration, as one does. And when I realized this recipe didn't require me to head to the store, I was sold. The key technique here is placing the protein on top of the grains rather than stirring everything together, which prevents mushiness while making sure the meat's juices drip down and flavor everything beneath it.

I can literally throw everything in and in about 10 minutes, then walk away and focus on homework help, blog work, or the million other things that fill my day. The liquid in the Crockpot doesn't evaporate the way stovetop cooking does, so everything absorbs exactly what it needs to turn out tender without any stirring or monitoring.

I turn to this recipe on my busiest days when I know I won't have time or energy to cook after a long day of work and activities. Feeding chicken-loving kids doesn't have to be complicated or time-consuming when you have the right recipes in your rotation.

Ingredients

Raw chicken, uncooked rice, seasonings, chicken broth, and a can of cream soup arranged on a marble surface.

Boneless, skinless chicken thighs make this chicken and rice recipe so flavorful and easy, but you can also use bone-in thighs for more flavor (my kids are too lazy to remove the meat from the bone). Long-grain white rice soaks up all the savory flavors from the cream of chicken soup and chicken broth, turning tender and perfectly cooked without me having to watch a pot on the stove.

Onion soup mix adds instant depth and seasoning without having to measure out a bunch of spices. The chicken broth creates that savory base that keeps everything moist and brings all the flavors together into one hearty dish.

See the recipe card for exact quantities.

How to Make Crockpot Chicken and Rice?

Creamy crockpot chicken and rice garnished with chopped parsley in a white bowl on a marble surface.

This Crockpot chicken and rice recipe is the perfect comfort food for busy nights. With tender chicken thighs, savory rice, and a creamy base, this dish requires minimal effort while delivering maximum flavor.

Prepare the Chicken and Season

Start by seasoning the chicken thighs with salt and pepper. This simple step ensures the chicken is well-seasoned and flavorful. Set the seasoned chicken aside while you prepare the rest of the ingredients.

Prepare the Slow Cooker

Hand spraying non-stick oil into a black slow cooker with seasonings and broth nearby on a marble counter, prepping for delicious crockpot recipes like chicken and rice.
A Crockpot chicken dish with shredded meat and savory broth sits on a white marble countertop—a cozy favorite for easy crockpot recipes.

Spray the interior of your slow cooker with cooking spray to prevent sticking. Once it’s greased, add the rice to the slow cooker. Then, pour in the cream of chicken soup, the onion soup mix, and the chicken broth. Use a spoon to stir the ingredients together until well combined. The soup and broth will form the base for the rice, ensuring it cooks up tender and flavorful.

Add the Chicken

Raw chicken thighs with broth, seasonings, and garlic in a black Crockpot for an easy crockpot chicken recipe on a white marble counter.

Place the seasoned chicken thighs on top of the rice mixture. The chicken will rest on the surface, so it cooks on top of the rice, keeping the flavors intact and moist as it cooks.

Cook the Dish

Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 4 hours. During this time, the chicken will cook through, and the rice will absorb the flavorful liquid. After 4 hours, the chicken should be fully cooked, and the rice should be tender.

Rest and Serve

Bowl of creamy Crockpot chicken and rice garnished with herbs, next to a slow cooker and a sprig of parsley—a cozy classic for fans of easy crockpot recipes.

Once the cooking time is up, let the dish rest for 10 minutes before serving. This resting time allows the flavors to set, making the rice a bit firmer and the chicken even juicier. Serve the Crockpot chicken and rice hot, and enjoy this easy, comforting dish!

Storage

A bowl of creamy Crockpot chicken stew topped with chopped herbs, with a spoon and fresh parsley in the background—a comforting favorite among crockpot recipes.

Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. To reheat, simply microwave or warm on the stovetop, adding a splash of chicken broth if needed to maintain the desired consistency. This dish is not recommended for freezing as the texture of the rice may change.

op Tips for Crockpot Chicken and Rice

Use bone-in, skin-on chicken: This adds more flavor and moisture to the dish, ensuring the chicken stays tender and juicy during cooking.

Adjust seasoning to taste: Feel free to add extra herbs or spices like garlic powder, paprika, or thyme to customize the flavor to your liking.

Check rice consistency: If you prefer your rice a bit firmer, you can reduce the cooking time by 30 minutes or add a little extra chicken broth if the rice appears too dry. TC Crockpot Chicken and Rice

Tuna Noodle Casserole Recipe With Ripples Chips

Easy tuna noodle casserole made with pantry staples, creamy sauce, tender noodles, and a crisp topping. A simple weeknight dinner everyone enjoys.

Close-up of a fork lifting creamy baked pasta with peas and herbs from a dish in the background.

Whenever I look at my pantry and find the basics, especially tuna and egg noodles, my mind automatically thinks of this tuna noodle casserole. It's one of those recipes that lives in the back of my brain as the answer to "what's for dinner?" when I'm too tired to go to the store or figure out something complicated.

I first saw it in an old magazine from the 1970s, and hand to make it. My family loves it, and honestly, it's so comforting that even I look forward to eating it on busy weeknights.

What I've learned from years of weeknight cooking is that the best casseroles are the ones where you build everything in one bowl without multiple steps or complicated techniques. The key to making this work is understanding how starches absorb liquid during baking. By mixing everything together before it goes in the oven, the pasta continues to soak up moisture and flavor as it bakes, creating that cohesive, creamy texture without needing to make sauce from scratch or cook components separately.

I'm confident that the crushed topping is the reason everyone ask for seconds. What I found through testing different options is that using something salty and crunchy creates the textural contrast that makes casseroles satisfying instead of one-note soft. That crispy top layer paired with the creamy filling is exactly what comfort food should be.

This recipe is a reliable go-to that does't need fancy ingredients or tons of time to make something everyone actually wants to eat. It uses pantry staples, and I almost always have everything I need on hand, and my kids never complain when I tell them it's casserole night. It saves me on busy days and while it's so incredibly easy, it still feels like a real, homemade dinner.

Ingredients

Bowls of egg noodles, potato chips, canned tuna, cream, peas, soup, and pepper on a marble surface.

Tuna packed in water is what I use for this casserole because it gives a cleaner taste without leaving an oily film in the sauce. If you only have tuna in oil, drain it really well so the casserole doesn't turn heavy.

Egg noodles hold their shape better than regular pasta and keep that soft but springy bite even after baking. Wide egg noodles work best because they catch the sauce nicely.

Cream of mushroom soup acts as the base and brings a thicker texture without me having to make white sauce from scratch, which saves so much time on busy days. Milk thins it out to the right consistency for coating the noodles.

Frozen peas add color and little pops of sweetness without any extra prep. Cheddar cheese blend melts smoothly and gives the casserole richness without turning grainy.

Crushed potato chips on top add that salty crunch that pairs perfectly with the creamy base. Panko works too, but chips add something special to the topping.

See the recipe card for exact quantities.

Let the casserole cool to room temperature before storing. Transfer leftovers into an airtight container or cover the baking dish tightly with foil. It keeps in the fridge for up to 3 days. Reheat in the oven at 325°F until warmed through, or use the microwave for single portions. The topping will soften in the fridge, so you can add a small handful of fresh fried onions after reheating if you want the crunch back.

Top Tips for Tuna Noodle Casserole

Drain the tuna well: Extra liquid makes the sauce thin, so press the tuna lightly with a fork to remove as much water as you can.

Undercook the noodles slightly: Pull the noodles off the heat about a minute early. They continue cooking in the oven and stay firm instead of turning soft.

Crush the chips right before baking: Freshly crushed chips stay crisp in the oven. If you crush them too early, they absorb moisture and lose their crunch.
